If you plan to use the boiler also to get hot water, then you will need an external boiler and an additional supply of the boiler power per person permanently living in the house.

An important role is played by the boiler material – steel or cast iron. Steel boilers are easier and have a simpler design of the firebox, which is easier to clean – it is enough to remove the ash from the ash. The smoke canal in steel boilers is longer, so the heating of the coolant occurs more efficiently. In cast -iron boilers, the smoke channel is shorter, and the large heat transfer area is achieved due to the ribbed surface in which the combustion products settled, the cast -iron boiler will have to be cleaned using brushes, scrapers and poker. In this case, the heat capacity of the boiler itself in cast -iron models is higher.

Electrical wood boilers, which raise efficiency through the use of electricity, can be identified as a different species. You can control the firebox temperature at a specific level thanks to modern automation, which monitors and modifies the combustion process through valves that control the amount of air flowing into the furnace!
