There are three categories identified:

  1. Heavy (wall). Simple construction: made of red bricks with refractory lining. The foundation serves as a base for this type of masonry. Suitable for a boiler of medium capacity, in a room where the height of the walls will not exceed 12 m. Thickness and weight are significantly increased compared to the others.
  2. Lightweight is made of refractory or diatomite material and metal cladding, based on the frame of the heating boiler. It consists of a layer of fireclay and red bricks and insulation materials (soveli, vermiculite, slag wool, etc.).д.).
  3. Light – from chamotte concrete or heat-resistant concrete and heat-insulating slabs. Cladding work of boilers of this type is characterized by maximum reliability.

The primary responsibility is to ensure that the structure is tight and meets all installation requirements. Refractory clay is added to the mortar after it has been thoroughly mixed to a liquid consistency.

Normal sand or salt cannot be added because boiler lining differs from regular wall masonry. It is preferable to avoid diluting with unclean water or adding other contaminants as this will lower the quality and cause the clay to peel off more. It is done mixing in a sanitized container. Use a thicker solution for smaller boilers; it is easier to apply a dense layer of it.

The higher the values, the more complex the execution process, which uses more liquid mortar. The thickness of the layer at standard mixing – no more than 2-3 mm, when laying under the base no more than 100-150 mm.
The structure is built of whole fire bricks, the masonry must be made with perfectly even joints.
